Commercial strategy · Growth diagnosis

Know where growth gets stuck, and what to change first, in three weeks.

The Growth diagnosis is a three-week investigation into why marketing and sales are doing a lot, yet results lag behind. You get insight into where growth gets stuck in the commercial chain, why that happens, and which three to five changes matter most.

It's a good place to start when there's a lot going on in marketing and sales, but nobody can say exactly what works, where opportunities are missed and what needs attention first. Or when teams mainly point at each other.

When to choose the Growth diagnosis

  • Marketing and sales work hard, but growth lags behind.
  • Marketing is measured on lead volume, while sales doubts the quality of the leads.
  • A big deal or pitch has been lost, and sales and marketing blame each other.
  • Teams report different figures, and so end up having different conversations.
  • A new commercial director is starting, and wants to know first where things are really stuck.

How the diagnosis works

  1. Look and listen — we look at the CRM data and talk to people in marketing, sales and customer success. Not to assign blame, but to make the differences visible.
  2. Make a sharp choice — we show where growth gets stuck most, and which three to five changes matter most. And so what isn't a priority.
  3. Align — we discuss the findings in a decision session with the leadership team, and make the choices together.
  4. Follow through — you get the report and a 90-day plan, we hand everything over, and support the execution if you want us to.

What you have at the end

  • A Growth diagnosis report: where growth gets stuck, why, and which three to five changes matter most.
  • A management one-pager with the essentials on a single page.
  • A 90-day plan: what happens first, by whom and when.
  • A handover with owners and open decisions, so you can carry on yourselves.

Your team's involvement

Access to CRM data, conversations with people in marketing, sales and customer success, and a decision session with the leadership team.

And afterwards?

The diagnosis stands on its own. If the outcome shows that teams are working at cross purposes, an Alignment programme or Market activation may follow. We only agree a next step if there's reason to. Frequently asked questions about the Growth diagnosis

What does a Growth diagnosis cost?

We work on a project basis, not by the hour. If STOF is a good fit for your challenge, you'll receive a proposal after the introductory call with a fixed price, a clear timeline and what you'll have at the end. Longer-term support is agreed per month, all-in.

How long does it take?

Three weeks, with a decision session with the leadership team at the end.

Who will we be working with?

You'll work with both Nona and Carlijn. We're a team and look together at which expertise and experience fits your challenge best. You have one fixed point of contact, unless we agree otherwise together, and we both know what's going on in your organisation. Who leads the project depends on the project: we bring in the right expertise and always spar with each other. Our approach is documented, so the project keeps moving during illness or holidays.

What exactly will we have at the end?

A Growth diagnosis report with the three to five changes that matter most, a management one-pager, a 90-day plan and a handover with owners. The leadership team makes the choices itself, in the decision session. Not a thick report that ends up in a drawer, but a starting point for Monday morning.

Who is the diagnosis not right for?

If you're only looking for extra hands to execute, a standalone website or a new logo without the choices behind it, or someone to keep managing it forever, we're not the right partner. We do build brands and websites: as a translation of your positioning, in sprints, with a trusted technical partner when it gets technically heavier. We do need to be able to sit in on the teams and conversations where the story is told.
